Havana, Cuba
The Malecon, the embankment, in central Havana fronts the shore
for 5 miles from Rio Almendares to the Castillo de San Salvador
de la Punta.
Designed by the General Francisco de Albear in the 1850s, it was
not built until the early 20th Century by the US Governor General
Woods. Today it's a popular, and sometimes soaking, walk along the
seafront.
